App is soooo slow to open it. It should be instant. Also cameras constantly freeze when viewing on app and my shortcut buttons work 25% of the time and the other times it tells me to set them up when they already are.

Never Loads

I’ve had enough with the Vivint app. Every time I try to use it, the video feeds either take forever to load or don’t load at all. It doesn’t matter if I’m on Wi-Fi or cellular live view and recorded clips are consistently delayed, if they show up at all. In an emergency or even just checking alerts, this makes the app practically useless. I invested in this system for peace of mind, but instead, I’m stuck waiting for videos that never appear. I’ve restarted, reinstalled, updated and nothing helps. This is a serious reliability issue, especially for a system that’s supposed to offer real-time monitoring.

Absolute Garbage

This company needs to get their tech in order. The app is extremely buggy and has become very unreliable over the last few months. I tried to disarm my house today and the alarm still went off. That’s unacceptable!

MALFUNCTIONING

Once again, the app is MALFUNCTIONING! Cannot go live on the cameras now when away from home! It was working JUST FINE earlier today! I’ve done all the reboots of the cameras, updated the app, & everything else possible remotely! Vivint, you’re having TOO MANY PROBLEMS with this app & its updates & you need to correct these issues IMMEDIATELY! My Vivint system is GREAT when it works properly but this is UNACCEPTABLE! Fix your servers, coding, or whatever is causing these problems! I’m paying GOOD MONEY for this security system to work PROPERLY!!!

Literally never works

The app never works for us. It always stalls at the Home Screen or if it does open, nothing works. I’ve deleted and reinstalled - I’ve tried everything. Been a customer since 2018 but I think it’s time to switch. God forbid there ever be an emergency…my app doesn’t work!!

Too late

By the time the app and cameras load, the person is long gone. No point in being able to talk through them when it’s 5 minutes after the alert that it actually loads. And half the time my doorbell only chimes ON the doorbell, not in my home.

Regret switching

Overly expensive, the camera compared to new ones that came out are extremely poor in visualizations.

Update causing app to crash

Unable to view cameras, crashing when trying to adjust the A/C schedule. Deleted and reinstalled, continues to crash.

Tooooo slow

I can’t view my camera footage when I get a detection notifications because it’s super slow.

I want to love it

This system is exhausting. With every update the app gets worse, it never loads the videos. I get alerts and it just spins, I have to shut the app down and restart it every single time I try to check a motion alert or doorbell ring. The doorbell camera goes out constantly. I have to reboot the panel (which takes about 10 minutes) almost once a week, sometimes more often. They keep making updates to stuff on the app but none of the updates improve the functionality, it just seems to get worse. It’s a great system when it’s works as intended but that about 30% of the time. Like I said…EXHAUSTING!

Loading time

Anytime there’s a notification for motion I click on said notification and it takes about 3 whole mins for it to load and I thought maybe it’s my internet, but I have a separate system at the same location and those cameras come up in an instant. I’ve check my internet and it’s good so idk the security part of it is good but the loading side of it needs some work.

Trash

This trash app keeps freezing. Upload and download speed well over 400 mbps and cameras still freeze . Oh, be careful about calling in a complaint as they’ll make you buy a new camera (my camera is under 1 year) or would send out a tech for 99$ . My digital lock already broke down and it’s under a year old . Locked in to a contract so it is what it is .

System is really flawed.. I’m always having to call in regarding service not working sensors not recognizing cameras loading slow if at all….. arming and disarming and they talked me into upgrading my system stating that’s the reason why my system runs so slow so now I have new cameras, new doorbell, new door sensor, and the brand new door sensor is still not being recognized by the system and the cameras are still not working as they should….

Never works Very unreliable junk.

Junk from the very beginning, never works always a problem. Once again, this junk doesn’t work. I can’t see nothing around my property and there’s been a problem. App not working. All systems down.

New Update

New update has rendered app inoperable, requiring the new iOS system, totally disregarding the fact that the app was fully functional with the older iOS. I’m sure the app update is horrible in and of itself, as they always are.

Slow and unreliable

The Vivint app is completely unreliable for a home security system. It constantly lags, forcing me to sign out, delete, and reinstall just to get basic functions to work. Door locks, cameras, and system status are delayed—sometimes by minutes—which defeats the purpose of having a real-time security system. A home security app should be responsive and consistent. A few bugs but ok I guess

This app logs you out at random times doesn’t always record everything. Sometimes playback speed lags. The only good thing is that the alarm is very sensitive. Also would recommend if you have pets take off their collars or the alarm might go off also wouldn’t recommend this for ladies and gents with long hair and who like to blow dry their hair at home cause this might also cause the alarm to go off

Slow and doesn’t load properly

Ever since the new update with the new icon, the app just doesn’t work the same. It never opens properly and the images loading half. It randomly kicks me out. How are people supposed to use this when away from the house? Doesn’t give me a peace of mind at all. Mind you, this is me after 5 incidents of frustratingly can’t open the app.

Mediocre Alarm App

Today marks the third time this app did me the courtesy of falsely claiming that the alarm was deactivated BEFORE I opened the alarmed door. Please ensure that you thoroughly beta test before releasing a “working” candidate. I cannot afford additional charges to my account simply because the app lies to me when it has not disarmed my house. Thanks!

App is Not Good

This app loads sometimes and when it does it is slow. There’s no point in a system you cannot monitor when away. Uninstall and reinstall, same issues.

Get Ring

Horrible app. Lag time is 10 minutes off as someone may ring the doorbell but by the time the app loads 5-10 mins has passed making the door cam feature worthless. This is with 5gb download speed.

App Is Getting Worse

We have had Vivint for nearly 10 years and haven’t had issues until recently. Now the app often doesn’t open or is slow to open. The doorbell cam clips often don’t work anymore either. I’ll tap one of the clips and over half the time, it doesn’t work.

As To Be The Worst

Why do I have to reboot my system whenever the doorbell camera goes offline. Then when the reboot of the system is done in order to get back to the home screen once again I have to reboot the iPhone. I mean between the developers of this app and the owners of Vivint it should be listed as a major felony

We feel safe, but have issues with the app

The application constantly stalls on the first logo page for me even when I have internet and 5 bars of service and sometimes it won’t progress past the logo page when I open it. My app glitches and says it disarmed the alarm and I go to open the door and it says I opened it when the alarm is on many times. Majority of the time I have to wait at the door for a minute or two to let the app open and show me the option to disarm the alarm to go inside. It also freezes all the time for me when I try to watch back our camera recordings. I have updated the app, my phone, restarted my phone, restarted our system, tried without internet, tried with internet and 5 bars of cell service and no matter what, my husband and I keep having issues with it. We love the alarm system though. It does make us feel safe. We just would prefer to not be slowed down when using the application.

Constant logging in

Every time I open the app, I have to log back in. So when someone opens the door, while the alarm is armed I can’t disarm it from my phone before the alarm sounds because I have to keep logging back in. Also, when I had Vivint years ago, the garage could be opened from the app. Now I have to use a second app to open and close it, which is isn’t convenient, and I have to check the other app to see if it’s opened or closed, instead of checking one app to ensure the entire home is secured.

Face ID

Sometimes the system requires you to login and it has no Face ID option. The other worst thing is you can’t access it with a desktop with poor connection you get some arias only phone option. Lastly the app is not loading quickly even with home WiFi

Unsatisfied

The camera records when it wants, I can barely see the videos recorded in the appt , and the app don’t work as I want it to Work. It get frozen a lot even though I updated my phone and app. I called customer support bunch of time to fix this matter they or cancel my account and they don’t want to cancel it and they still charging my bank account

Deception in business with new credit cards all else. Is ok? Noise and light deterrent are awesome. Hate that I can’t record my day around my house. Pick another company.

The app is ok. It lags almost always. It also doesn’t capture and upload always. One feature I wish it has was a consistent record option. Overall the quality of the equipment is good the app is below average.

Your service is over priced. It shouldn’t take eight phone transfers to accomplish anything or to cancel your miserable service. Your service technician are lazy and don’t want to do proper or professional installations, they merely want to do what is quick easy and convenient for themselves and try to sell their measly experience to their customers as if their omniscient. In summary I would not only not recommend your company to others but warn them of how truly awful of an experience they will be in for. Should they decide to use your service.

Very Slow

The cameras are very slow. They lag. If there is an emergency and you are trying to view the camera it takes forever to load. Also the cameras delay. I would not recommend.

Vivint poor company

Sold me a camera and light the light as never worked keep saying they will replace but like usual customer service is very poor. Wait till they try to charge my credit card again I will dispute charge

Terrible

This app is horrible. When I get a notification on my phone, I can’t load the camera footage to see what’s going on. How does this provide safety and security? Even after resetting my phone and redownloading the app. I also can’t load the events history videos. This has been going on for MOTNHS. When I’m away from my home I want to ease of knowing if something is going on, I can review right away. Poor app tech

App updates are worse than before

The latest updates over two or three versions are horrible. You can not delete a whole day anymore. All you can do is individually delete (painful) or delete all events (not ideal)
